My Weekend Away....

I took off Thursday from KCI to attend a conference in Denver.  I have had 5 days to myself and I feel rejuvenated!  Thursday was a little crazy with multiple calls from my fighting teenagers at home but ultimately, they gave up and decided to get along.  GEEZ!  Today, I am sitting in the Denver Airport waiting for my flight back to Kansas City.  We board in about 30 minutes, then arrive at KCI at 3:45.  Should be home by 7:30 or 8:00.  It has been a nice relaxing weekend with good, informational meetings.  Now my life returns to the "school schedule" and I'm off and running.  You will probably see less blogging from me as my schedule ramps up with the kids activities and work commitments!  Hope everyone enjoys the summer that is left and keeps cool!

Shelby Lee Thacker, II

This first born decided he could not wait to meet this world and came about 4 1/2 weeks early.  But he was healthy at 7 lb 13 ounces and 21 3/4 inches long.
 one minute old
 one month old
3 months old and very big for his age!
So cheeky and remember the hair, nothing could keep it down.  NOTHING!
no words to describe this...Cracks me up! ( and he will kill me but it's worth it!)
 3 years old
 5 years old
8 years old and just had to have his ear pierced. Ended quickly when pulled during BB practice.
10 years old, won his first Go Kart race!
age 13, still waiting for that crazy growth spurt that all his other friends have had...Patience my son!

Sweet "Lee Lee" to his cousins and so many others who love this wonderful young man.  We are having his 16th birthday party here at the house where I have given him permission to have as many friends as he wants for a massive slip and slide backyard party!  Will post those great pics early next week so stay tuned!

Making pizza and slip and slide fun

Savana had a project planned to make their own personal pizza's.  It was a complete hit, Savana rocks!

Uncle Shelby's old wraps make excellent slip and slide material.  He also was in charge of some of the crazy water spraying that the boys especially loved.  The big kids add another 25-30 foot wrap at the end and can slide all the way down into the pool of water that forms at the bottom.  All of Erics kids and family plus Lee and Savana are covered in baby oil today from last nights adventure.  Summer fun never ends at the Thacker house.

Weekend with the kids....

Ava and Ayden played forever with the ball and tennis rackets.  They both were able to hit the ball!

Alec worked really hard airing up the scooter wheels.  He is very mechanically inclined!

Korbyn rules the crew and enjoys riding Grandma Joy's very old little bike!

Alec also spent a long time making a castle which he has trouble saying and says something like "axel".  It took some very dedicated guarding to keep Korbyn from messing it up...

Got the summer cold here at the Thacker house

Lee is coughing, I am coughing... no fever just sore throat and coughing.  Not sick enough to keep us home but enough to be uncomfortable and cranky!  Went down to visit Eric and kids today at Uncle Ron's house.  Nice to just sit and visit for a while while the kids hung out together.  Kelly was working in the office so Eric and I just gabbed about old times.  Nice relaxing day!

Last fling with kids before the move!

Brian, Ashley and the kids are moving back to Wyoming.  Just found out last night that Brian has a full time job opportunity and he can't pass that up since work hours here with Shelby have not been full time.  Luckily we spent some quality time together yesterday at the Eldon Pool where the kids had an absolute ball!
